MicroSkills Privacy Policy
MicroSkills is a privacy-friendly learning and focus app. This privacy policy explains how MicroSkills handles data in the current version.
1. What this privacy policy covers
MicroSkills helps you turn selected scrolling moments into short learning moments. When you open a trigger app that you selected, such as YouTube or Facebook, MicroSkills can show a learning reminder.
In this version, MicroSkills is a soft reminder. The app is not a hard app blocker.
2. What data MicroSkills uses locally
To the extent of the current version of MicroSkills, the app uses the following data locally on your device:
- your selected trigger apps, such as YouTube and/or Facebook;
- your settings, such as card count and unlock/pause settings;
- your learning and practice progress;
- your answers, sessions, unlock status and local statistics;
- a local pilot report on your phone;
- technical status needed to show the learning reminder.
In this version, this data stays locally on your device and is not sent to MicroSkills.
3. Usage Access
MicroSkills uses Android Usage Access to detect when you open a trigger app that you selected.
The app uses this access to show a short learning reminder or notification at the right moment.
MicroSkills does not use Usage Access to read messages, feeds, media files, web page contents or screen contents from other apps.
4. Notifications and foreground service
MicroSkills may use notifications to:
- show a learning reminder;
- show a fallback reminder when a selected trigger app is opened;
- make it visible that monitoring for selected trigger apps is active.
MicroSkills may use a foreground service to support this core feature reliably and visibly while you have enabled the feature.
5. What MicroSkills does not do
To the extent of the current version of MicroSkills:
- MicroSkills does not use an account;
- MicroSkills does not use a backend;
- MicroSkills does not use cloud sync;
- MicroSkills does not use external analytics;
- MicroSkills does not show ads;
- MicroSkills does not process payments;
- MicroSkills does not sell data;

- MicroSkills does not read feeds;
- MicroSkills does not read screen contents from other apps;
- MicroSkills does not use overlay permission;

- MicroSkills does not use full-screen intent.
6. Is data shared with third parties?
To the extent of the current version of MicroSkills, learning data, trigger selections, progress and pilot reports are not sent to MicroSkills or third parties.
In this version, MicroSkills does not use external analytics, ads, accounts, cloud sync or payments.
7. Retention and deletion
Because the data in this version is stored locally on your device, you can delete local data by:
- clearing the app data through Android settings; or
- uninstalling the app from your device.
8. Children and target audience
In this first beta, MicroSkills is intended for a general/adult audience.
The app is not primarily directed at children and is not intended as a Families Program app.
9. Security
MicroSkills limits data processing by keeping data locally on the device and by not using a backend, accounts or external analytics in this version.
No app can guarantee absolute security. Please also use the normal security settings of your device.
10. Changes
This privacy policy may be updated when MicroSkills changes, for example if accounts, cloud sync, paid features, additional modules or external services are added later.
The latest version of this privacy policy is available on this page.
